Twitter Profile says: “I’m just this guy, you know?”
Will Wheaton was the first celebrity I followed on Twitter. I actually blanked on the name the first day, but had noticed that he was tweeting about his work on an upcoming episode of Criminal Minds. I told Trish, who stared at me and repeated his name. Then it clicked, and I was rushing off to IMDB. Anyway…
Will doesn’t need me to introduce him, I don’t believe, so I’m going to concentrate on Twitter. On Twitter, Will is in constant battle with ITunes. His posts are sometimes random, and sometimes following some thread or other – like the last few days when he’s commented that he can’t imagine a worse idea than someone impersonating him as a Twitter fake.
His posts are personable, engaging, and funny. He’s been doing a lot of writing – working on a career as a writer, which I can certainly relate to. His blog is filled with cool links, cool geekery, and references both to his family and his work. His is also the only celebrity blog that I read with regularity. He has quite the way with words.
When his episode of Criminal Minds was on, it was fun to actually communicate with him while we watched it -and when I’ve been watching old Star Trek episodes, and he turned up, I’ve sent him notes that he responded to with links to articles he’s written and things that enhanced the experience.
Tweepleblog assessment: Though a celebrity, Will is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever encountered. His tweetstream is funny and entertaining, and I consider him a must-follow.
