Web Site: The Guild Website

Twitter Profile says: ” Actress, Filmmaker, Gamer, Misanthrope”

Felicia was probably the second celebrity I followed on Twitter.  I followed @Wilw because, well, I love Star Trek.  Soon after coming on Twitter, though, I discovered “Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog” – which was VERY cool, and featured a beautiful actress, tragically killed at the end.  Soon after, I discovered that actress was also on Twitter, and that she had another project underway.  The Guild.

For those of you who have not watched The Guild, get over there. If you are into the Internet, role playing games, web games, or comedy, you are in luck on all counts.  The Guild is the hilarious story of a group of online gamers who end up taking their virtual life into some interesting real-life encounters.  Felicia, who plays “Codex,” is the creator of “The Guild,” and she often tweets about writing and scripts, and the whole process.

Others will remember her from Buffy the Vampire slayer (see, I learned all of this AFTER I started following her Twitter account).

Whatever reason you choose, here’s why you should be following Felicia Day on Twitter.  It isn’t because she’s famous, or you’ve seen her on TV or she was Dr. Horrible’s secret love.  She’s a genuinely caring, friendly person.  Her tweets are interesting, fun, and entertaining.  She obviously knows and loves the world she writes about – which makes her sort of a Web 2.0 patron celebrity – someone who gets it.  She is down-to-earth and appreciates her fans and followers.  And she and I both know one truth.  Never respond to the trolls…

As a writer, I’ll post a secret wish … if my novel “This is My Blood” ever gets made into a movie, I want her for Mary Magdalene.
