Today…and Two More Days Until Nanowrimo

I wanted to take a last shot at reminding people about a couple of things.  First off, Nanowrimo starts in two more days.  For those of you participating, this is just a jab that will elicit “I know! Iknow SHUT UP SHUT UP I’M NOT READY” chants.  For those of you not participating, you’ll either be happy to hear us all quit jabbering about it, or scratching your heads wondering what the heck a Nanowrimo is, anyhow…

The second thing is – and this is for readers, writers, fans, whoever – if you want to read along while I write my novel this year, all you have to do is register at the site.  I’ll post my daily output in it’s rough draft form each evening.  Those who have registered as subscribers will be able to see the posts…those of you who do not register won’t.  No restrictions on who can register, unless you are just doing it so you can post spam comments…those will be quickly banned and silenced.  I’m hoping you’ll all enjoy it. The novel is Heart of a Dragon, and it’s Book II in “The DeChance Chronicles,” of which book I – Vintage Soul – is the next things I want to mention.

Way back in the spring I asked everyone if I offered a good discount on an upcoming book over Twitter / Facebook etc. – made them signed copies – and put up a link for pre-order if they’d be interested.  Nearly a hundred people responded enthusiastically, and so I made it happen.  There hasn’t been a huge response so far, but there are pre-orders.

I sweetened the pot a bit for real geeks and fans recently.  If you pre-order before I start writing Heart of A Dragon on November 1st, your name goes into a drawing.  The winner of the drawing gets to become a character in Heart of a Dragon – possibly a recurring character throughout the series.  How cool is that? When I did the same thing for charity with one of my White Wolf novels we earned over seven hundred dollars…I’m hoping a few of you out there are intrigued by the idea.

The pre-order site will be open until December 1st with the discount.  After that you can still buy signed copies through me, but at a higher price…and of course the book is available at Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble on line, as well, if you prefer that.  Mostly I want people to buy it and read it.
