My son found this critter on a web dangling from a miniature rose bush on our back porch. He saw red spots and shied away, but upon closer examination, definitely NOT a widow. So…what is this funny looking spider? Experts? Sort of experts?

it kind of looks like a banana spider… the same body shape. but the colors are off. maybe that can help you get closer to your answer?
