Internationally Published on Mobile Phones

I have some exciting news to pass on. Contracts are still being finalized, but come December 1st, two of my books are going to be released by Blackbetty MobileMedia GmbH, a small screen publisher (SSP) specializing in mobile marketing and distribution, and Vodafone Group Plc, the world’s leading telecommunications company. They will be launching a number of titles, ans going out to a very large international market with novels broken into segments and delivered to mobile devices everywhere. Eventually (and not long in the future) they will be available on Android and Kindle as well as almost literally every mobile device available.

The two novels in question are:

Deep Blue. For those of you familiar with my work, you’ll recognize this one. It’s a novel of the blues, rock music, spirituality, pain, and redemption. Publisher’s Weekly and Library Journal loved it, but distribution was limited to a few thousand hard cover copies, and a few thousand trade paperbacks. This will mark the novel’s first major mass market release, and I’m excited about it. The first part of the book will be a free download. Subsequent segments will incur a small charge. We’re takin’ this thing Global, baby…

The photograph is by Leo Reynolds who has graciously allowed its use for my digital release.  I find it compelling and perfect.  It’s a shot (I believe) of a keyhole.  The keyhole is in the shape of a guitar with a cross on the neck…so very appropriate to my novel.  The lock representing the pain of the world, and the gift of the blues…the guitar, and then – for the latter part of the novel  – the cross.  I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect image (well, I could have, and have in the past, but it never happened until now).  Thanks Leo!

The second novel that will be released is “The Orffyreus Wheel” – a historical / modern day dual-timeline thriller.  A very long time ago, a man named Johann Bessler invented a wheel.  It spun and kept on spinning until it was stopped, and it had enough power to perform work while doing so.  That is the legend.  In this novel, Bessler’s heirs are about to reveal that same secret to a world desperately in need of a free source of clean energy – while another group motivated by greed tries to stop them, and gain the secret for their own.  The book also follows the life of Bessler through the invention of his wheel…it was a lot of fun to write and has a lot to offer fans of books like The Da Vinci Code.  This book was formerly released in the “Amazon Shorts” program at Amazon.com – who never bothered to publish the final segment at all.  I’m excited to finally get a revised and complete edition of this one out to readers worldwide!  When I have a cover graphic (very soon) I will pass that on as well – along with information on where and how you can get the books!

Welcome to a new era in publishing…I hope.  This may also lead to more editions of my work in print…so if you have a mobile device or an electronic reader…please, give my books a try come December!
