A few years back, author and poet Rain Graves came up with an exercise that was a lot of fun. She challenged folks to give her any three random words, and she proceeded to take those words, no matter how ill-fit, and write a poem that used all of them. I joined in, and several of those I wrote are going to be published this fall in a Halloween poetry anthology – I made good money!
Rain, myself, and Mark McLaughlin wrote a book together called “The Gossamer Eye,” which won the Bram Stoker Award for poetry…I don’t write it as often as I should. This will hopefully inspire me. Send me three words. Comment here, or send them on Twitter. I will keep track of the words, and who sent them, and when I have finished making them all into poetry, I’ll show you – fair enough? Challenge me!
Maybe tonight I’ll post the first few. Anyway, I wrote this blog post once, and Wordpress mangled and ate it (lol). Here it is again…leave me three words in the comments section, or send them to me on twitter.

relative, peace, homecoming
Sure, play as often as you like…within reason.
