We twittered from doorways we tweeted in malls,
We twittered in bathrooms at sinks, and in stalls,
We twittered through mornings and evenings and nights,
And we tweeted by green glowing IndigloTM lights
We twittered of presidents, losers and kings,
We twittered of wars and we twitpiced the rings
As a few of our number entwined their accounts
And twittered together, in lesser amounts
We twittered of Twitter and Tweeted of blogs,
Of ankle strap heels and of Birkenstock clogs
We twittered our lives and our hopes and our dreams
Because here in the Twitterverse everything seems
Just a little bit closer, a little less sad,
When the real world is broken, or wailing, or mad
In this tiny Tweet universe friends can be found,
No matter what time or what day, they abound!
For the walls and the clocks and the mountains and miles
Are not barriers here to our tears, or our smiles.
We can chatter and natter and twitter and curse,
We can share all our thoughts in bright Dr. Seuss verse
As another year passes and fades and grows dim,
And the next one’s upon us, dull, happy, or grim
We gather on keyboards and Iphones and Macs
On PCs in cafes and library stacks
To share in the wonder, the burdens and spells
The tastes and the sounds and the sights and the smells
Of a world that is smaller, yet bigger by far,
Like the world’s finest gather and drink and talk bar,
Whatever the two thousand ninth year may bring
Sweetened by sugar or sharpened to sting,
We will meet it together the tears and the titters,
And rely on our power, the magic of Twitters!
Happy New Year everyone…see you next year!

Thanks…so far it’s been a calm, quiet end to the old year. We’ll see what comes up with 2009…but creativity will always play a part….
