<p>The other day on the Amazon Kindle message boards, Smashwords author Ed Patterson met a U.S. soldier stationed in Iraq who wanted to download ebooks for his Kindle, yet Whispernet (Amazon&#8217;s wireless download service) didn&#8217;t work in Iraq.</p>
