Just in case there are hordes of you out there wondering why there have been no lolcats or posts from me for a while, or at best there have been spotty ones, I thought I’d put up a quick note, and then let it pass.
On the 30th of November, my ex-wife passed away. My two boys, Zach and Zane, are down living with us in North Carolina now, and things have turned a bit topsy turvy. Luckily for Trish and I, we have some of the most wonderful children on the planet, and things are stabilizing. We have a lot of challenges ahead, and there are a changes galore for all of us…in particular the boys.
Everyone has come together remarkably, and I certainly count it as a blessing that I’ll have the next few years to be closer with my boys, and to be there for them in ways I couldn’t when they lived up in Virginia. It’s going to be a time of thanks, and some sadness, change and stress, but then, what sort of family doesn’t experience those things along the road?
I’m blessed with Trish, our daughter Stephanie (home now for Christmas break from college where she’s absolutely KILLING on grades…so smart…), Bill, Zach, Zane, and Katie the youngest, who is thrilled to have all these older siblings around…though not so thrilled when they turn off Boomerang and play video games.
I probably have more than I deserve, but I try…
In any case, as everything else in our lives, I’m guessing my posts and presence will stabilize and return to some semblance of normalcy over time…

David,
So sorry to hear of the sadness. However, you are making a beautiful, positive acceptance of life's detours. You are all blessed to have one another and my prayers are with you.
I will miss your tweets, but your family is and should be a more important priority.
Warm Wishes,
Cynthia
I wish you and your family the best. Glad to hear that the adjustments are going smoothly.
